The main priority for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in terms of weapons remains air defense systems and missiles for them, as well as artillery shells and electronic warfare. This is what First Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Gavrilyuk said.
According to him, Ukraine needs different types of air defense systems. It is not only about protecting cities and critical infrastructure, but also the safety of the front line military. The priority remains a modern air defense system and missiles that can bring down ballistics.
The provision of artillery ammunition is also very important for us, because the advantage of using enemy artillery ammunition remains on average 1 to 5 in their favor. And these are also electronic warfare equipment so that we can reliably cover critical infrastructure facilities, as well as units on the battlefield,” said Gavrilyuk.
We remind you that in 2024 Ukraine has $6 billion for the purchase of weapons, including from domestic manufacturers. At the same time, production capabilities are three times greater.
In April, it became known that Ukraine received the first decision to purchase Ukrainian weapons for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the expense of its Western partner, Denmark. The money came through a new fundraising platform.
