Vladimir Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, signed Decree No. 340/2024, according to which sanctions against a number of Russian propaganda television channels, such as REN TV, NTV, Zvezda, TNT, etc., were extended for another 10 years.

The corresponding decree putting into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of May 22, 2024 “On the application and abolition of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)” was published on the president’s website.
The sanctions apply to a number of TV channels, newspapers and news agencies in Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea. In particular:
- multimedia information center “Izvestia”;
- newspapers “Moskovsky Komsomolets”;
- JSC “Moscow Media”;
- JSC Channel One. World Wide Web”;
- Uranis LLC;
- information center for radio broadcasting, art and culture “Faith, Hope, Love”;
- JSC TV and Radio Company Petersburg;
- TV and radio company “Crimea”;
- information platform “Krympress”;
- Crimean newspaper;
- TV and radio company “Yalta”.
Sanctions, in particular, provide for:
- asset blocking;
- restriction of trade operations;
- preventing the withdrawal of capital outside Ukraine;
- prohibition of activities on the territory of Ukraine and entry into Ukraine.
