The DBR opened a criminal case against a number of commanders for breaking through the state border in the Kharkov region.

As part of this proceeding, the territorial department of the SBI in Poltava is seizing a number of secret military documents. This was reported by the Glavkom publication with reference to court registers.
In total, the names of 28 military personnel appear in the cases (commander of an operational-tactical group, brigade commander, battalion commanders, company commanders, head of the headquarters intelligence department), whose involvement is being verified by the DBR.
It is noted that:
- According to the pre-trial investigation, on May 10, 2024, in the area of responsibility of the operational-tactical group “Kharkov”, the operational-strategic group of troops “Khortitsa”, the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, during the enemy’s assault operations, there were facts of the abandonment of combat positions by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are talking about units of one company, which were part of the first echelon of defense. As a result of this emergency situation, the Russian offensive had to be repelled by the forces of the second echelon of defense.;
- According to the investigation, the command of the 125th brigade and its subordinate units, including the 415th separate rifle battalion, 23 mechanized brigade, 172 separate rifle battalion, did not seem to properly organize the defense of positions on the border of the Kharkov region and military equipment. unit personnel;
- the investigation gained access to the decisions of the commanders of the specified military formations on the implementation of combat orders in the area of the incident, documents on reliable data on the manning of the above-mentioned military units with personnel, weapons and military equipment as of May 10, 2024, documents on the condition of the fortification equipment in the area, barriers forms and other documents;
- As part of the investigation, a military examination was ordered;
- criminal proceedings were initiated on May 11, 2024 on the facts of negligent attitude towards military service (Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code) and unauthorized abandonment of the battlefield (Article 429 of the Criminal Code). The maximum penalty for these articles is 10 years in prison.
