The ministry reminds that the government finances the costs of the security and defense sector only from its own tax revenues, as well as military bonds.
For January-April 2024, expenditures of the general fund of the state budget in the security and defense sector amounted to 554.7 billion hryvnias, or 58.6% of the total amount of expenditures of the general fund of the state budget. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine on Friday, May 24.
It was reported that in April alone, costs reached UAH 146.6 billion.
Funds are allocated to:
monetary allowances for military personnel, private and commanding officers, police officers;
procurement of military/special equipment, weapons, ammunition, defense products, personal protective equipment (helmets, body armor and other special equipment), fuels and lubricants, food;
medical support;
and other types of expenses to support the activities of relevant bodies and formations.
The ministry reminds that the government finances the costs of the security and defense sector only from its own tax revenues, as well as military bonds.
“Therefore, it is very important to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine by faithfully paying taxes, as well as investing in military bonds, after all, every hryvnia raised is an investment in the defeat of Russia!” – said the message.
Let’s remember that in April the Cabinet of Ministers allocated an additional 8 billion Hryvnias for the construction of fortifications.
