Financially, the damage from damage and destruction of infrastructure and buildings in Ukraine amounts to $153 billion.
In 2024, Latvia will allocate six million euros to support infrastructure development in Ukraine. A similar amount of support is planned for 2025. The Government Portal reported this on Wednesday, May 22.
Ukrainian infrastructure allocations were discussed at a meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Community Development of Ukraine with the Latvian delegation led by Latvian Minister of Economy Viktors Valainis. The parties discussed the development of supply chains, the creation of favorable financial and economic conditions and the stimulation of economic cooperation between countries.
“Latvia is interested in strengthening economic relations, in particular, in matters of changing the export of agricultural products from the Russian Federation and developing export routes,” the government said.
It is expected that a proposal for an integrated logistics solution, which includes land and sea transportation, will be developed for Ukrainian exporters and their Latvian partners.
The expansion of cooperation in the field of rail transport was also discussed.
Representatives of the Latvian delegation assured that the air carrier airBaltic is ready to start operations in Ukraine as soon as air traffic resumes.
It was previously reported that Latvia will transfer drones and radars of its own production to Ukraine.
