The block will affect subscriptions to products such as Teams, One drive, Azure, Office 365 M365 and all online services.
The Russian company began disconnecting users from Microsoft cloud products in the Russian Federation. The Russian pro-government news agency Interfax reported this with reference to Softline.
“Microsoft, apparently, has approved the list of disabled products. From yesterday evening, the rolling stops of subscriptions to CSP (cloud solution provider program – ed.) began 5-10 customers were disconnected from batch,” the message said.
In particular, subscriptions to Power BI, Visio, and Project have been discontinued.
Microsoft announced in early March the suspension of access to its cloud products in Russia from March 20, 2024. The corporation later allegedly “discussed postponing the introduction of such restrictions.”
Subscriptions to products such as Teams, One drive, Azure, Office 365 M365, all web services (including free ones), SQL On-prem Server, System center server (security updates will no longer be delivered), all versions of Excel are blocked.
In addition, keys for MS Visio and Office will be blocked, security updates (WSUS) will not be delivered.
The shutdown will also affect the free versions of Power BI Pro and Microsoft’s Azure Devops and online protection.
In the past, Russian media claimed that Microsoft did not restrict Russian IT companies from accessing its software.
As you know, two months ago it was reported that Microsoft and Amazon will close access to their cloud services in the Russian Federation.
