The document card on the Verkhovna Rada website says that the president returned it to the people’s deputies for consideration with his proposals.
Earlier, representatives of eight human rights organizations in Ukraine called on Zelensky to veto this document, which would allow the termination of an employment contract with an employee of a critical infrastructure enterprise for association with an aggressor state.
According to human rights activists, the law applies not only to workers at critical infrastructure facilities.
The President proposes to exclude the rule on the right of employers to dismiss their workers if they have not informed their management about their existing connections with people who remained in the temporarily occupied territories.
Earlier, people’s deputy, member of the Committee for Social Policy and Protection of Veterans’ Rights Taras Tarasenko reported that bill No. 7731 adopted by the Verkhovna Rada gives additional grounds for employers at critical infrastructure enterprises to fire workers for collaboration.
In war conditions, it is necessary to create new frameworks so that employers can ensure the safety of the enterprise, especially relevant for critical infrastructure enterprises. In the adopted bill, we prescribed the conditions under which the Cabinet of Ministers will be able to develop rules for the dismissal of persons by the employer if an investigation has revealed facts that could cause damage to the enterprise or the country,” Tarasenko said.
