Large fires broke out in two Russian cities, Novorossiysk and Tuapse, and an electrical substation was badly damaged in occupied Sevastopol.
In the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation, an attack was reported on the Tuapse oil refinery and port in Novorossiysk, and the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the downing of more than a hundred drones by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Russian public pages and media reported this on the morning of May 17.
After arriving at the plant in Tuapse, a big fire started. No casualties were reported.
In Novorossiysk, local residents counted 33 drones and more than 35 explosions.
The governor officially announced an “unsuccessful attempt to attack the Ukrainian Armed Forces” and the downing of 10 UAVs, and “military correspondence” confirmed the “arrivals.”
Residents of Novorossiysk reported during the night that the port was without electricity, and traffic along Magistralnaya Street was completely blocked.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported 102 downed UAVs. We are talking not only about the drones that were shot down in Krasnodar Territory, but also about those that flew over Crimea and caused electricity problems.
Downed drones were also reported in the Belgorod and Kursk regions.
Russia’s military department has not commented on the arrivals.
Let’s recall that as a result of the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the occupied Crimea, Sevastopol was partially de-energized;
