In the evening, the condition of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stabilized after surgery. Slovak Defense Minister Robert Kaliniak said this in a briefing, reports Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday, May 16th.
“Overnight, doctors managed to stabilize the patient’s condition. They are currently taking measures that should lead to an improvement in his health,” he said, but added that the situation remains serious.
The doctors announced that the operation lasted for five hours, after which Fico regained consciousness.
Let’s remember that on May 15, there was an assassination attempt on Robert Fico in the city of Gandlova, located 150 kilometers from Bratislava. He received several bullets and was immediately operated on.
The attacker was detained at the scene. He turned out to be Juraj Tsintula, 71 years old. The man was motivated by political motives.
