The White House said it was working closely with Ukraine to help it prepare for a Russian offensive in the Kharkov region.
The United States is preparing to send a new batch of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced this in a briefing.
“We are also working on another package of urgently needed aid to Ukraine,” he said, without specifying what exactly the new package would include.
At the same time, Jean-Pierre confirmed that the United States is trying to provide assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkov area. According to him, in this area “Ukrainian forces are fighting stubbornly.”
A White House spokesman also told reporters that Russian troops have launched an offensive in Kharkov and will soon intensify the pace of offensive operations there to create a “shallow buffer zone along the Ukrainian border. “
“And we are in close contact with Ukraine to help it prepare,” Jean-Pierre said.
Let’s remember that on May 10, the United States announced an aid package worth $400 million. This includes additional ammunition for the Patriot and NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells, and more.
After that, the White House said that Washington is preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine and will announce it in the coming days.
