71-year-old writer Juraj Cintula, who is the founder of a literary club in Levice, may be involved in the shooting in Handlov. In 2016, he worked for a private security company. The news portal Aktuality and TV channel Joj reported on the alleged attacker with varying details.
The media also note that the man’s son is “shocked by the situation.” He refused to say whether his father was against Fico, saying only that “he did not vote for him.” He also objected that Juraj Cintul ever openly spoke about plans to attack or kill a politician.
