Law enforcement officials are conducting 24 simultaneous searches at the production facilities and warehouses of four cigarette manufacturers suspected of illegally manufacturing tobacco products. This was reported by the Bureau of Economic Security (BES) on Wednesday, May 15.
It is indicated that the manufacturers are suspected of producing cigarettes in Form 2 and their further sale in Ukraine and EU countries.
“During the searches, detectives have discovered production lines and more than 1 million packs of cigarettes Marshal, URTA, BRUT, BL, Marvel, Compliment, etc. without excise tax stamps have also been discovered, ” the report said.
BEB detectives previously determined that the majority of shipments of illegally manufactured tobacco products were conducted by a well-known delivery service. A large number of cigarettes without excise stamps were found in one of its branches.
The search continues in the factories. Criminologists and the State Tax Service are involved in relevant analyzes and studies.
In turn, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Daniil Getmantsev, announced searches of the businesses of the five largest domestic tobacco producers.
“Among them, the Lvov factory and the converter factory that you and I know from Kyiv are known,” he wrote in Telegram.
Earlier, thousands of smuggled electric cigarettes and liquid for them were found at a customs office in Volyn. The lot is worth 3 million hryvnias.
