On average, every day two children become victims of the Russian army’s aggression against Ukraine. The number of injured children is also increasing.

At least 1,993 children in Ukraine have been killed or injured since the start of Russia’s all-out invasion on February 24, 2022. This was stated in a report by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on Monday, May 13.

It is indicated that on average every day two children become victims of the war in Ukraine. At the same time, UNICEF emphasizes that the real number of victims is much higher.

“As we see in all wars, rash decisions and actions by adults cost the lives, safety and future of children,” the report said.

The Foundation also emphasized that war has a negative impact on children’s mental and physical health.

“In addition to the killings of children and the physical damage caused by the attacks, many children throughout Ukraine have experienced loss and violence that has affected their mental health and well-being, thoughts and memories,” the experts point out. .

According to the foundation, almost half of the children attending Ukrainian schools do not attend full-time education, and almost one million children across the country do not have access to full-time education due to risk.
