Estonia, like other Baltic countries, is actively helping Ukraine after the start of a large-scale military invasion by the Russian Federation. The state provides Kyiv with both defense and humanitarian, financial and political support.
The Kremlin is trying to destroy its allies and weaken military support for Kyiv, so it has intensified hybrid attacks on the territory of European countries. This was announced on Monday, May 13, by Estonian Prime Minister Kaia Kallas, writes the Associated Press.
“Russia has intensified its shadow war against all European countries. It wants to intimidate and frighten the free world so that we stop giving aid to Ukraine,” he said.
Kallas noted that partner states and allies should not be subjected to Russian pressure in this regard and called for continued support for Ukraine in the fight against the invaders.
“We should not be afraid,” stressed the Estonian official.
Earlier, the Estonian authorities said that they do not rule out the possibility of sending their troops to the territory of Ukraine. However, the country noticed that in this case the military would work in the background.
Estonia will transfer funds to Ukraine to strengthen its own cyberspace within the framework of the IT coalition. This was learned during a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Ekaterina Chernogorenko and the Deputy Commander of the Cyber Command of the Estonian Defense Forces Mihkel Tikk and the head of the cyber policy department and coordinator of the IT coalition from the Estonian Ministry of Defense Laura Oolup in Kyiv.
