The task of the United States and Western allies is to prepare Kyiv for negotiations from a position of strength in its own interests, the politician emphasized.
This summer, Ukraine will be able to use new long-range weapons on the front. Former US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland said this on Monday, May 13, Meduza reports.
He noted that the United States continues to support Ukraine in confronting the enemy and has already provided significant military support to Kyiv. In addition, they provide economic and humanitarian assistance. In particular, the politician said, special funds were created for the reconstruction of critical infrastructure, energy support for the country and solving humanitarian issues.
“Our special envoy for economic recovery in Ukraine, Penny Pritzker, is trying to revive Ukrainian cities so that people can come home, so that exports can increase again,” Nuland said.
However, as the politician said, while the United States, along with its European and Asian allies, is giving Ukraine more and more funds, “Putin is creating more and more destruction.”
“According to some estimates, a thousand Russians a day are now dying at the front – just to advance a few kilometers and take a few villages. So yes, Ukraine’s needs are growing, but I think it will continue we’re going to help it — with that including new and longer-range weapons that you’ll see in action at the front this summer,” Nuland said.
Earlier, Victoria Nuland said that Ukraine can be strong and force Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table.
