The Russian occupiers were advancing into the Donbas, sowing destruction, but at the cost of huge losses of both manpower and weapons.
Russia’s offensive in Ukraine will slow in the coming months. This was announced on Tuesday, June 22, by Prime Minister Boris Johnson in relation to British intelligence in an interview with a group of European newspapers, Reuters wrote.
According to him, the occupiers are still advancing in the Donbas, but at the cost of huge losses of both manpower and weapons.
“However, our military intelligence service believes that in the next few months Russia may reach a point after which there is no further movement forward, as it will deplete its resources,” Johnson said.
He stressed that other countries should help Ukrainians “return the water.”
“I will defeat it at the G7 summit. Since the Ukrainians have the ability to launch a counter-offensive, it must be supported. With the equipment they need from us,” Johnson stressed.
When asked what would be considered a victory for Ukraine, Johnson replied: “So that we can restore the status quo before February 24, and Russian troops will be able to withdraw from the areas they attacked.”
Recall, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson paid an unannounced visit to Ukraine. As a result of the negotiations, Johnson proposed to Volodymyr Zelensky a large -scale training program for the Ukrainian military on British soil.
