The United States has been able to provide its army with updated equipment because of its supply of military equipment to Ukraine. Part of the funds allocated to Ukraine was allocated to the latest active Iron Fist protection technology. It was reported by the British newspaper The Telegraph.

In particular, the US Army’s armored vehicle fleet received the latest Iron Fist active protection technology more quickly. In fact, the Pentagon transferred its old weapons to Ukraine, and instead receives money from the budget for the purchase of new generation weapons.

The media cited the example of the transfer of used M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine. In exchange for the transfer of more than 200 M2A2s produced in the 90s, the US Army was given new Bradley M2A4E1 models from the BAE Systems assembly line in Pennsylvania.

“The Army has received funding for the purchase of one M2A4E1 for each Bradley transferred to Ukraine,” said the US Army Armor Command.

The new vehicles were made taking into account how they performed on the fields of Zaporozhye and Donbass, the publication added. In particular, one of the main innovations is the Iron Fist on-board active defense system, which intercepts missiles and drones in flight.

The system was previously used in Israel, but it was the UAVs that led to its use in the war in Ukraine, where drones dominated the battlefield.

The new modification is the most protected version of the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle in particular, the vehicle received the Iron Fist active protection system. The vehicle has an improved gunner’s sight and a climate control system for landing troops.
