“This year their number has decreased compared to the time when the war started. And the number of new people who came to Estonia and wanted to receive protection here has also decreased,” said Liis Valta, head of the Department of Identity and Status of. Police and Border Guard Board.
It is reported that around 160,000 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Estonia since the war began. Of these, 70,000 moved to other countries. About 90,000 Ukrainians decided to stay in Estonia.
Currently, according to the Police and Border Guard Board, about 31 thousand refugees live in Estonia under temporary protection.
We remind you that Poland will extend temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees. In particular, this also applies to Ukrainians who do not have a passport.
