A new rector was elected at the Ostroh Academy, Doctor of Psychological Sciences Eduard Balashov. The Chairman of the Rivne Regional Council, Andrey Karaush, announced this on Thursday, May 9.
“Ostroh Academy has a new rector, who at the national university will continue the long-term work of the Hero of Ukraine Igor Pasechnik. I congratulate Eduard Balashov on this post, he won the election with a result of 82.3% and became the .candidate only,” the message said.
As mentioned, Eduard Balashov is a Doctor of Psychology, professor, assistant rector for international cooperation and fundraising, is involved in international exchange programs for students and teachers, and moderates lectures with retired US Army Lieutenant General Ben Hodges.
His predecessor Igor Pasechnik led the establishment since its restoration, that is, since 1994.
Let’s add that the national university Ostroh Academy is the successor to the first higher educational institution of the East Slavic peoples – the Ostroh Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy, founded in 1576 by Prince Vasily-Konstantin Ostrogsky.
