In Odessa, law enforcement officers detained a man suspected of killing a 16-year-old school boy. This was reported to the GUNP of the Odessa region.
It was learned that on the night of April 6, two teenagers were walking home when unknown men asked them for a smoke. Because of the rejection, fights and fights started. One of the teenagers managed to spray tear canisters at the offenders, call a private security company for help and escape. A second student was stabbed in the chest at the time.
When the beaten man returned, his friend was lying on the ground in blood, and the company of strangers was no longer there. He called an ambulance. Security guards arrived and tried to administer first aid to the wounded Odessa resident, but he died before doctors arrived.
According to preliminary data, the man’s death was caused by heart damage and chronic blood loss. The exact cause of death will be determined based on the results of a forensic medical examination.
A 24-year-old resident of Kharkov, who rented an apartment in the Khadzhibeysky district of Odessa, was detained. He said he threw the crime weapon in a canopy above the entrance of a residential building not far from the scene of the incident. Law enforcement officials seized the knife and, along with other material evidence, will send it for analysis.
The man was informed of the suspicion of premeditated murder. He faces up to fifteen years in prison.
Assault proceedings were also launched against a second teenager.
