Belarusian border guards allegedly found three foreigners on the border between Poland and Latvia. The government of the Republic of Belarus hastened to blame the neighbors.
Three foreigners died on Belarus’ borders with Poland and Latvia. Their bodies were discovered by the Belarusian border guards. The State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus announced this on Tuesday, May 7.
“In the past week, the border guards of Belarus at the borders of EU countries recorded the death of three refugees. So, on May 3, the bodies of two foreigners were found on the border of Latvia, and when May 5, another. located on the Polish border,” the message said.
An investigative team has been sent to the scene of the incident, the department added.
The Belarusian ruling regime believes that the reason for the death of foreigners is not because they use illegal immigrants to undermine the situation in neighboring EU states, but the EU countries themselves.
The report noted that on May 6, at the Belarusian-Polish border in the Pruzhany region, a border patrol “saw two men of non-Slavic appearance.” The arriving ambulance team took the foreigners to the hospital, where they were diagnosed with bruises of varying severity, as well as wounds. The victims were citizens of Afghanistan.
Belarus’ ruling regime claims that Polish security forces “severely beat them while in custody” and “forcefully pushed them through a livestock gate” into Belarusian territory. True, Minsk did not specify how the Afghans ended up on the Belarusian-Polish border.
It should be noted that Polish border guards and military personnel on Wednesday morning, April 10, prevented the attempt of more than 220 foreigners to cross the border illegally from the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
Let’s add that Poland is sending additional troops to the Belarusian border.
