The Energy Minister said thermal and hydroelectric generation facilities, as well as power transmission systems, suffered the most damage.
After a series of massive attacks by the Russian Armed Forces on energy infrastructure facilities, the situation in the Ukrainian energy system remains quite difficult the industry has suffered losses of more than one billion US dollars. The Minister of Energy German Galushchenko announced this during the telethon, the press service of the ministry reports.
“At the moment, we are talking about losses of more than a billion dollars. But the attacks continue, and it is clear that the damage will grow,” said Galushchenko.
The minister said that thermal and hydroelectric generating facilities, as well as power transmission systems, received the greatest damage, and that the troops of the aggressor country did not stop daily attacks on energy facilities, using drones, ballistic and artillery.
“The system is stable today, but the situation is quite complicated,” the minister explained and added that now, thanks to favorable weather conditions, the energy system can be balanced with the capacity of renewable energy sources.
It was previously reported that as a result of Russian strikes in Ukraine, half of the energy capacity was destroyed.
