Due to Russia’s war against Ukraine, there is an unprecedented increase in demand for TNT explosives (TNT) in Western countries, which has created an almost critical shortage of TNT explosives.
Finland planned, along with NATO allies, to build a TNT production plant. This was said by Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen, Yle reports.
“We need to significantly increase the production of explosives. Therefore, we must seriously consider the role of the domestic industry in this regard,” Häkkänen said.
It has been reported that due to the Russian war against Ukraine, there is an unprecedented increase in demand for TNT explosives (TNT) in Western countries, which has created an almost critical shortage of TNT explosives. The only plant in the EU is located in Poland, but its production level does not meet the demand.
Therefore, Finland conveyed to its allies the need to make decisions as soon as possible, because Russia is set up for a long war, and the need for explosives will remain significant.
“The decision has to be made now so that production can start in a year or two,” Häkkänen said.
According to the Minister of Defense, Finland has unique knowledge and skills in the field of ammunition production, so the production of TNT in Finland is quite logical.
We remind you that the President of Finland called on NATO to prepare for a conflict with the Russian Federation.
