The invitation was announced by Swiss President Viola Amgerd, as the summit will take place in Bürgenstock in Switzerland.
Swiss President Viola Amgerd invited Pope Francis to the Global Peace Summit, which will take place on June 15 and 16 in Bürgenstock. This is reported by Blick.
“We invited the Holy See that the Vatican evaluates the peace conference very positively,” the Swiss president said.
He added that during the conversation they discussed the most problematic parts of the world today.
“I had an interesting conversation with the Pope in a warm atmosphere. We talked, in particular, about the war in Ukraine and other problem areas in the world,” said Viola Amgerd.
Let us remind you that the Pope has recently made repeated statements about the war in Ukraine. In March, Francis said Ukraine “must have the courage to raise the white flag.” His words caused great resonance both in our country and around the world.
Later, the press service of the Holy See explained that the Pope did not mean surrender, but a return to negotiations.
