The Ministry of Defense names the cost of maintaining a military person

The cost of replenishing army personnel depends on the monthly draft volume, the amount of aid received, and rotation decisions.

Ukraine spends about 1.2 million hryvnias on maintaining one of its military personnel, and this does not include weapons. Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense Yuriy Dzhigir named this amount in a commentary to Bloomberg.

He did not specify what period of time this amount is spent, but we can assume that we are talking about a year.

Dzhigir said that the costs of mobilizing Ukraine to replenish the army personnel depend on three factors:

  • monthly call volume,

  • amount of aid received,

  • rotation decisions.

Let’s remember that in one of the recent opinion polls, 25% of respondents said that many of those around them try to avoid mobilization.
