Dmitry Peskov warned about a “potential threat to the entire European security architecture.”
Moscow sees a manifestation of “direct escalation” in the fact that British Foreign Secretary David Cameron supported Ukraine’s strikes on Russia with the help of British weapons. Kremlin Speaker Dmitry Peskov said this at a briefing on Friday, May 3.
“This is a direct increase in tension around the Ukrainian conflict, which could pose a risk to European security, the entire European security architecture,” Peskov stressed.
The Kremlin spokesman also called the statement of French President Emmanuel Macron “important and dangerous” in an interview with The Economist, where he confirmed his position that he does not rule out the entry of Western troops into Ukraine.
“The statement is very important and very dangerous France, represented by the French head of state, continues to talk about the possibility of its direct involvement” in the conflict around Ukraine is closely watching it,” said Peskov.
Let’s remember that a day before David Cameron said that Kyiv has the right to use weapons provided by London to strike targets on Russian territory, because Moscow is attacking Ukrainian territory. He also pledged £3 billion ($3.74 billion) in annual military aid to Ukraine over a “sustainable period.”
