More than 160 delegations from around the world were invited to the first peace summit. The list of participating states will be published later.
Russia has not been invited to the upcoming Peace Summit. But he must take part in the next meetings. The corresponding statement was published by the Swiss Foreign Ministry on Thursday, May 2.
It is indicated that more than 160 delegations from around the world have been invited to the Peace Summit. Among them are the member countries of G7, G20, EU, BRICS, other countries from all continents, three international organizations (UN, OSCE and Council of Europe) and two religious representatives (Vatican and Ecumenical Patriarchate) ).
The selection of invited countries is intended to ensure the widest possible participation of high-ranking representatives from many countries. The list of participating states will be published shortly before the start of the conference, the statement said.
It was indicated that the upcoming meeting will be based on discussions around the Ukrainian Peace Formula and other peace proposals. The main purpose of the summit is to inspire the future peace process.
To achieve this, the summit aims to:

provide a platform for dialogue on ways to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine;

promote a common understanding of a possible structure to achieve this goal;

jointly define a roadmap for how both sides will engage in the future peace process.
The Foreign Ministry says that Russia was not invited at this stage.
“Switzerland has always shown openness to Russia’s invitation to this summit. However, Russia has repeatedly and publicly stated that it is not interested in participating in this first summit. The summit in Switzerland is intended to start peace process. Switzerland is convinced that Russia should be involved in this process Peaceful process without Russia is unthinkable, “said the Foreign Ministry.
As you know, the Peace Summit will take place on June 15-16 in Switzerland. The Ukrainian side expects that 80-100 countries of the world will participate in this event.
At the same time, the Office of the President ruled out Russia’s participation in the first Peace Summit, but there is a possibility that its representatives will be at the second summit.
A week ago, President Vladimir Zelensky announced that Russia was planning to disrupt the Peace Summit. According to him, this is confirmed by intelligence data.
