During the war, the wife of the SBU’s chief cyber intelligence officer, Ilya Vityuk, bought an apartment for more than 20 million hryvnias.
President Vladimir Zelensky signed an order dismissing Ilya Vityuk from the post of head of the SBU Cyber Security Department, whose wife bought an apartment for more than 20 million Hryvnias during the war. The corresponding decree was posted on the website of the Office of the President on Wednesday, May 1.
“To remove Ilya Anatolyevich Vityuk from the post of head of the Department of Counterintelligence Protection of State Interests in the Field of Information Security of the Security Service of Ukraine,” said the text of the order.
We remind you that in early April, investigative journalists from Investigative.Info found a premium apartment of almost 200 sq.m bought in December 2023 from a woman Vityuk. The market value of such housing is more than 20 million hryvnias.
Subsequently, the publication reported that they tried to serve the publication’s journalist with a subpoena in a Kyiv supermarket, possibly at the direction of an alleged SBU employee. The editors believe that in this way the special services want to punish the investigator who exposed Vityuk’s selected assets.
Regarding this fact, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky ordered an internal investigation. And the Office of the Prosecutor General began criminal proceedings.
The head of the SBU suspended Vityuk for the duration of the inspection and sent him to the front line.
