The oil refineries that feed the Russian military-industrial complex are a legitimate target of the Ukrainian military, GUR said.
On Wednesday night, drones of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine hit the Ryazan oil refinery in Russia and attacked a refinery in the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation. Ukrainskaya Pravda reported this on May 1, citing an interlocutor in the Main Intelligence Directorate.
“The military target in Ryazan was hit. The damage is huge, obviously,” he said.
According to the source, the consequences of the attack on the oil refinery in the Voronezh region are still being clarified.
The GUR MOU usually does not officially confirm or deny special intelligence operations. At the same time, the department emphasizes that the oil refineries that feed the Russian military-industrial complex are a legitimate target of the Ukrainian military, which has been resisting armed aggression by the Russian Federation for 11 years.
In this regard, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the “destruction” of six drones, allegedly “Ukrainian”.
“The next air defense systems destroyed and intercepted six Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, of which: three in the territory of the Voronezh region, one in the territory of the Ryazan region, one in the territory of the Belgorod region and one in the territory of the Kursk region,” the message said.
We remind you that last Saturday night, SBU drones attacked the Kushchevsk military airport, Slavyansky and Ilsky oil refineries in the Krasnodar region of Russia. It was reported in the media with reference to sources in law enforcement agencies.
Also last week, drones attacked two Rosneft oil depots in the Smolensk region.
