Detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security exposed a large-scale underground production of shoes and clothes from well-known international brands. The BEB press service reported this on Tuesday, April 30.
Factories and warehouses where counterfeit products are manufactured and stored are located in the Nikolaev and Odessa regions.
More than 100 employees worked in underground production without proper documentation. Factories do not pay any taxes.
According to the investigation, for the industrial production of counterfeit products of more than 15 well-known brands, the attackers used professional equipment, and sold the products throughout Ukraine.
According to BEB estimates, the monthly transfer of underground production is approximately more than 10 million Hryvnia.
Detectives conducted searches in factories and warehouses and seized sewing equipment, machines, packaging boxes, stickers, labels and emblems with logos of popular brands, raw materials and products without confirming the their origin.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The whole circle of people involved in the illegal production and sale of counterfeit products was established.
