On Tuesday, April 30, the capital’s utilities began dismantling the composition in honor of the Pereyaslav Council under the “Freedom of the Ukrainian People” arch. Dismantling may take several days, since the structure is quite massive. The Kiev City Military Administration reported this on Telegram.
It is noted that the monument consists of approximately 20 elements that weigh about 6 thousand – 7 thousand kg. Before dismantling, experts examined the structure in order to maintain its integrity during dismantling and not damage it.
The Kyiv City State Administration emphasizes that this monument will then be kept in the State Aviation Museum of Ukraine named after. O. K. Antonova.
Let us remind you that recently the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City State Administration announced that they would not dismantle the “Freedom of the Ukrainian People” arch (formerly the Arch of Friendship of Peoples). Officials emphasized that the meaning of the arch has been “rethought” and the space near it will receive a new concept.
