Romania handed over to Ukraine a Ukrainian citizen wanted for prosecution for several crimes. The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported this on Tuesday, April 30.
Yesterday, April 29, at the international checkpoint Porubnoye – Siret, the suspect was handed over to Ukrainian law enforcement officials.
It is reported that the extradited is one of the leaders of a criminal organization, which includes law enforcement officers.
The criminal group illegally produces, transports, stores and sells the psychotropic substances PVP, 4-MMC and amphetamine especially in large quantities. In addition, members of the criminal organization smuggled drugs from Ukraine to the countries of the European Union and the Russian Federation.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers seized more than 300 kg of prohibited substances and detained seven members of the criminal organization, including a law enforcement officer.
“The suspect is charged with creating a criminal organization, managing such an organization or its structural components, organizing the illegal acquisition, storage, transportation for sale and illegal sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues on a particularly large scale,” the statement said.
The issue of detaining the suspect has been decided.
The Security Service of Ukraine has put the former leader of the banned Communist Party in Ukraine, Petro Symonenko, on the wanted list. The SBU reported that during the occupation of the Kyiv region, he appealed to the highest military-political leadership of Russia about his “evacuation.”
