This was reported by Babel’s intelligence sources.
A school for UAV operators “Archangel” operates on the territory of the nuclear power plant; drones are launched near the sixth reactor, the personnel training center and the cooling room.
Since 2022, this school not only trains operators, but also produces FPV drones.
Training bases operate in the village of Zaozernoye near Yevpatoria in occupied Crimea and Melitopol, and Russia uses Energodar and the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant as a safe platform to train crews.
This school is financed and supervised by the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Russians began using the occupied Zaporizhia NPP for training and testing of FPV drone operators in the summer of 2023.
Some of the Russian drones in the area of the APU station are neutralized by electronic warfare systems, the drones lose control and fall on the territory of the station or into the Dnieper reservoir.
