We are talking about explosions of ammunition depots and the poisoning of managers of such companies, including a Bulgarian arms dealer who is considered a supplier of ammunition to Ukraine.
The series of bombings and poisonings organized by the GRU in Europe was coordinated by the couple Nikolai and Elena Shaposhnikov, who received political asylum in the Czech Republic in the 1990s. This is stated in the investigation of The Insider.
According to the authors of the investigation, together with Hristo Grozev, Nikolai Shaposhnikov worked in the Imex group, which was involved in the arms trade. Her husband was also involved in the work of Imex and directed her husband’s actions in direct coordination with the head of military unit 29155 of the GRU, General Andrei Averyanov. Czech police found that he passed on information received to Averyanov about upcoming arms sales transactions.
It was noted that based on this information, the GRU prepared sabotage operations against companies whose supplies could harm the military interests of the Russian Federation. We are talking about the explosions of ammunition depots and the poisoning of the managers of such companies, including the Bulgarian arms dealer Emelyan Gebrev – at that time he was considered a supplier of ammunition to Ukraine .
The Shaposhnikovs, despite their small income ($650 per month), own real estate in the Czech Republic, as well as the Elena villa in Greece worth about 275 thousand euros, where repeatedly GRU agents remained. According to The Insider, in 2015, Elena Shaposhnikova and other agents of military unit 29155, who participated in the warehouse explosions and poisoning Gebrev, were awarded the title of Hero of Russia.
After Czech investigators became interested in the couple, Nikolai began abusing alcohol and died in February of a heart attack, the publication wrote. Elena Shaposhnikova lives in Greece and says she is being persecuted “because of her Russian origin.”
It was previously reported that an investigation in the Czech Republic confirmed that the explosions at military warehouses in Vrbetika in 2014 were carried out by GRU officers, who also attempted to kill double agent Sergei Skripal in Salisbury in the UK.
Let’s recall that the Czech Republic accused Russia of blowing up ammunition depots in Vrbetice in 2014. After the arsenal was blown up, relations between the countries deteriorated significantly. Prague also demanded compensation from Moscow.
Later it became known that weapons for Ukraine were stored in warehouses in Vrbetice.
