The State Border Service is creating new brigade-type units that can conduct combat operations.
Increasing the number of border guards is a need of the hour. This is what the representative of the State Border Service, Andrei Demchenko, said in a telethon on Wednesday, April 24.
“The State Border Service is now developing and continues to strengthen its capabilities by creating new brigade-type units, that is, units that can actually conduct combat operations, armed with artillery and other means to destroy enemy equipment,” he said.
Therefore, according to Demchenko, this is exactly what caused the increase in the number of State Border Guard Service staff, because in the future these units will defend the border.
“This is no longer the security model that it used to be that it would have a military component,” said a State Border Service spokesman.
We remind you that on April 23, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law to increase the number of the State Border Guard Service by 15 thousand military personnel.
It was earlier reported that border guards engaged in a war with a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group in the Sumy region. The invaders set up an ambush, but retreated as a result of a clash with Ukrainian fighters.
