The KMVA reported this on April 24 and published several photographs.
In particular, this is clearly visible on cars caught in today’s rain in the capital – most cars are covered with a layer of yellow sugar dust.
The State Emergency Service said that dust from the Sahara, which was observed the day before in Greece, reached Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the natural phenomenon can be traced over the southern and central regions of Ukraine and spreads to the north.
Long-term precipitation washes dust out of the atmosphere, as a result of which weather stations record colored (yellow shades) rain, which does not pose any threat.
On April 25-26, dust will remain in the atmosphere over Ukraine, on April 27, air flows will change, and the air will clear after the rains.
At the beginning of April, dust from the African desert was already falling into Ukraine, polluting the air for several days.
