The Ukrainian Defense Forces will receive, in particular, Paveway IV bombs. The British Army used these bombs to attack military targets in Yemen in January. BBC correspondent Jonathan Beale reported this on April 24 on the social network X.
The latest batch of UK military aid will include Paveway IV bombs, it said.
As you know, Paveway IV is a high-precision aerial bomb with GPS or laser guidance. Its flight range is more than 30 km, depending on the release altitude and flight path. Bomb weight 230 kg.
This weapon is an analogue of the American JDAM and French AASM. The American allies are already in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but bombs from France are yet to arrive.
Let us recall that on April 22, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that he had agreed with US President Joe Biden on the supply of ATACMS missile systems for Ukraine.
The American television channel CNN reported that for the first time Ukraine will receive long-range ATACMS missiles with a maximum possible range of up to 300 kilometers in the next aid package. The United States is currently preparing a $1 billion military aid package for Ukraine.
