The new package, as stated in the material, will be provided through the PDA mechanism – that is, weapons will be supplied to Ukraine from the reserves of the American army, which is the fastest available route, according to CNN.
In all likelihood, Ukraine will receive long-range ATACMS missiles with a maximum possible range of up to 300 kilometers for the first time in the upcoming aid package.
The United States is preparing a $1 billion military aid package for Ukraine, two American officials told the agency.
They plan to allocate it after the adoption and signing of the bill on assistance to the allies.
The day before, Politico indicated that the United States was already preparing a package “much larger than the last one,” which was in the amount of $300 million. Most of the American weapons intended to help Kyiv are in warehouses in Germany and Poland, a source told CNN. According to him, artillery shells will be among the first to arrive in Ukraine.
The United States transferred a small batch of ATACMS with a range of 160 km to Kyiv in October 2023. After this, no similar American deliveries were reported.
