Russia’s Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov has been detained on suspicion of taking bribes. Russian public pages and media wrote about it in connection with the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
TG channel Mash writes that Timur Ivanov is responsible for the construction, reconstruction and overhaul of departmental facilities and military mortgages, as well as property management issues and troop quarters, housing and medical support for the Russian armed forces.
Ivanov held the position since May 2016. From 1999 to 2012 he worked in the country’s fuel and energy complex. 2012 was Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region. In 2013 – 2016 – General Director of JSC Oboronstroy.
It is reported that Putin has already been informed about the detention of Ivanov. The detainee faces up to 15 years in prison.
