Britain will provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with 400 units of equipment, 4 million rounds of ammunition, air defense elements and Storm Shadow missiles.
The UK is sending a military aid package for Ukraine worth 500 million pounds ($617 million), which includes 400 pieces of equipment, 4 million rounds of ammunition, air defense elements and Storm Shadow missiles. This is what British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said, reports Ukrinform.
According to him, London is now transferring military aid to Kyiv in the amount of 500 million pounds, and the amount of military support to Ukraine from Britain this year will be 3.5 billion pounds.
“We are providing 400 pieces of equipment, 4 million rounds of ammunition, air defense elements and Storm Shadow missiles,” said the British Prime Minister.
Sunak also said Britain would shift its defense spending to a “military focus.” The reason for this is the experience of the war in Ukraine.
The UK plans to reach the level of allocating 2.5% of GDP to defense by 2030.
We remind you that on Tuesday a record package of military aid to Ukraine was announced in Britain. Among other things, it will include more than 1,600 strike and anti-aircraft missiles, as well as additional Storm Shadow missiles.
In a telephone conversation, President Vladimir Zelensky expressed gratitude to Great Britain and personally to Rishi Sunak. The leaders of the two countries discussed military aid to Ukraine and the upcoming confiscation of Russian assets.
