The Ukrainian head of state explained why the seventh package of restrictions for the aggressor country should be introduced as soon as possible.
On Tuesday, June 21, President Volodymyr Zelensky held a negotiating marathon with the leaders of the countries of the European Union. He spoke about it in a video message following the results of the 118th day of the war.
Thus, the Ukrainian head of state conducted eight telephone conversations during the day – with the leaders of Slovakia, Lithuania, Hungary, Portugal, Denmark, Spain, Croatia and Ireland.
Zelensky thanked his interlocutors for supporting Ukraine’s European integration and stressed that the EU needs to introduce a seventh package of sanctions against Russia as soon as possible for its invasion of Ukraine.
“In all negotiations, I have always stressed: the seventh package of European Union sanctions is needed as soon as possible. Russia must experience ever-increasing pressure for war and for its aggressive anti-European crisis – all these are arguments to agree on the seventh package of sanctions, “said the Ukrainian leader.
The President announced that he would continue telephone talks with colleagues in Europe and would do everything possible to ensure that “the historic decision of the European Union is adopted.”
“It’s important for us,” he stressed.
As reported, the EU is discussing the possibility of including gold in the seventh package of sanctions against Russia. According to media reports, the proposal came from Denmark.
The EU called the value of the fixed assets of the Russian oligarchs
