Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have lost 796 tanks. Of this number, 140 combat units are produced by NATO countries. In particular, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost 30 units of German Leopard tanks. The Russian occupiers lost 2,900 tanks. The New York Times writes about this with reference to Austrian Colonel Markus Reisner.
He, citing data from military analysts Oryx, over the past two months, five of the 31 US-made M1 Abrams tanks have been removed from the battlefield.
According to Reisner, the Abrams, although very powerful, are not impenetrable. These tanks are most vulnerable where their heavy plate armor is thinnest: at the top, at the rear of the engine, and in the space between the hull and turret.
Let us remind you that American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles performed very well on the battlefield in Ukraine. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine notes that the Bradley is the vehicle that the military respects, and the enemies fear and hate.
