The US is considering sending additional military advisers to the embassy in Kyiv as it believes the Russian Federation is gaining momentum in the war. These advisors will not be involved in combat missions. Their task is only to provide consultations and support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ukrainian government. This was stated by Pentagon Speaker Patrick Ryder, Politico reports.
Throughout the conflict, the Department of Defense reviewed and adjusted the U.S. presence in Ukraine as security conditions changed. “For now, we are considering the possibility of sending several additional advisers to strengthen the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) at the embassy,” he said.
Sources disclosed information that this Directorate is engaged in monitoring weapons sent to the United States by Ukraine. According to them, these advisers will support logistics efforts and oversight of weapons that the United States sends to Ukraine. The new contingent will also help the Ukrainian military maintain weapons. ODC will also provide security for the embassy.
