The new production facility will assemble 1,000 drones per year and also produce spare parts.
A plant of the German company Quantum-Systems GmbH for the production of drones was opened in Ukraine. The company’s press service reported this yesterday.
Production is expected to build 1,000 drones per year, and spare parts will also be produced.
The new plant will be the company’s second business in Ukraine. By the end of the year, about 100 people will be working there.
“Quantum Systems will invest up to 6 million euros over the next two years. For the company, this is a vote of confidence in Ukraine and its employees, and at the same time a sign of the company’s commitment to providing long-term support to Ukraine in the field of its national defense,” the statement said.
It is not specified which drones the plant will produce, but it is known that Ukraine previously received 212 Vector reconnaissance drones manufactured by Quantum-Systems. Delivery of 500 such UAVs is expected by the end of the year.
The production facility in Ukraine is the company’s fourth plant out of seven located around the world.
Earlier, President Vladimir Zelensky was shown a new attack drone reminiscent of the Russian Lancet. It can attack enemy targets at an operational-tactical depth of more than 100 km.
