The famous movie actor spoke a lot in support of Ukraine from the first day of the full-scale war.
President Vladimir Zelensky awarded 88-year-old French film star Alain Delon with the Order of Merit. Ukrainian Ambassador to France Vadim Omelchenko announced this on Thursday, April 18, on social networks, as well as on French television, France 24.
“From the first day of a massive war, Delon spoke in support of Ukraine, for us, it’s a symbol, it’s important,” said the ambassador.
In particular, the actor participated in an interview with President Zelensky in 2022, and also read the works of Taras Shevchenko on a television program.
“Mr. Delon, dear Alain, I know that you find yourself in a not so simple situation, and I want to tell you that you are not alone. You have many fans and people who love you. Me and my people, we are always by your side,” Omelchenko emphasized.
The famous French artist Alain Delon recited Taras Shevchenko’s poems as a sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
