Enemy drones maneuvered and tried to attack the city from different directions. The UAVs flew along standard routes and tried to bypass the Ukrainian air defense through hard-to-reach areas, rivers and ravines. Press Secretary of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ilya Yevlash announced this on April 18 during a telethon.
Also, the Shaheds walked in a line to make it more difficult to hit them. Throughout the raid, the enemy used either groups of drones or individual drones. Thus, the enemy tried to confuse his trail as much as possible.
However, despite such tactics, our Defense Forces managed to eliminate all the UAVs,” Yevlash noted.
The press secretary of the Air Force also added that Ukraine is now experiencing a shortage of air defense systems. The Army now needs missiles for man-portable air defense systems and additional resources for mobile fire teams. This would allow the sky defenders to effectively determine in the dark where the Shaheds are and hit them.
Let us recall that on April 18, the army of the Russian Federation tried to strike critical infrastructure facilities in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, but all were shot down. The falling debris of the downed UAVs led to fires.
