Ukraine expects to receive at least seven Patriot batteries “soon” from partners and allies.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba held a meeting with Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly, where they discussed providing Ukraine with additional air defense systems. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported this on Wednesday, April 17.
Dmitry Kuleba is said to have informed his colleague about the Russian strike on the residential areas of Chernigov, which claimed 17 innocent lives and emphasized that it might not have happened if Ukraine had protection.
“The parties discussed the steps that the G7 countries can take to provide Ukraine with additional air defense systems from around the world,” the statement said.
“Tomorrow at the G7 ministerial meeting we will meet with countries and institutions that are capable of doing this,” added the minister.
I started my visit to Italy by meeting my friend in Canada @MelanieJoly.
I thank Canada for its support, including its active role in the return of Ukrainian children forcibly deported to Russia and assisting in humanitarian mine clearance efforts.
