Kharkov really needs a modern air defense system, because everything that is returned will be attacked again, the mayor of the city said.
Today’s strikes by Russian war criminals damaged the thermal power plant supplying the Kharkov region. The mayor of Kharkov, Igor Terekhov, announced this on Thursday, April 11, the Kharkov City Council reports on its Telegram channel.
According to him, in addition to the attack on the thermal power plant, the Russians also fired at the transformer substation – it was completely destroyed.
The official added that the city continues to function despite these attacks.
“We continued the work of the metro, launched a trolleybus and some tram routes. But Kharkov… really needs a modern air defense system. Without it, everything we return will be attacked again by the enemy,” stressed the city mayor .
Terekhov also added that the president’s office, as well as other cities and regions of Ukraine, provide generators and fuel to Kharkov.
As we wrote earlier, on April 11, Russia launched ten missile attacks on the critical infrastructure of the Kharkov region. More than 200 thousand consumers were left without electricity. There is no metro in the city.
Let’s add that the Russians launched a massive air strike on Ukraine using various types of missiles and kamikaze drones – 82 units in total. Air defense forces destroyed 57 aerial targets.
