Newly elected Prime Minister Simon Harris is close to naming the new Irish Fine Gael government.
The Irish Parliament has voted to appoint Fine Gael leader Simon Harris as the next Prime Minister of Ireland. RTE reported it.
“Over time, he (Simon Harris – ed.) will name a new government from the party,” the message said.
The leader of the Fine Gael party was elected to this post by 88 votes to 69.
Simon Harris said after the vote that the previous government was a “government of partnership” and paid tribute to Leo Varadkar as a “trailblazer”.
Harris said he accepted his new role as prime minister “with a spirit of humility, ready for the challenge, full of energy and determination to achieve what is required.”
As we wrote earlier, an interim government headed by Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev was officially appointed in Bulgaria on Tuesday, April 9.
