The United States should continue to provide aid to Ukraine in the same way as it has done since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Biden said.
The inaction of the US Congress is the reason why Ukraine is already losing ground on the front line. This is what White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a briefing.
“In the last few weeks, even months, one can see how Ukraine is losing ground on the battlefield. And this is due to the inaction of Congress,” the official emphasized.
He noted that the United States should continue to provide assistance to Ukraine in the same manner as it has done since the very beginning of the full-scale invasion.
Jean-Pierre emphasized that while repelling the Kremlin’s aggression, Ukrainian defenders are fighting for Ukraine’s freedom and for democracy.
“We see what is happening and we realize what can happen if the dictator (Vladimir Putin – ed.) is not stopped. It costs the Speaker (House of Representatives – ed.) Johnson to introduce a national security bill (with $60 billion in aid to Ukraine) , – ed.), and we know that he will definitely have the support he needs,” he added.
As we have already written, the US Congress has again postponed the vote on the Ukraine aid bill. The House of Representatives likely won’t take up this issue until mid-April, and it may not happen until later.
Recently, there have been increasing proposals that the United States may provide credit assistance to Ukraine. This is exactly the view expressed by former President Donald Trump.
